Brett Eastman
Brett Eastman has been an active teacher working in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2008, teaching private lessons to students of all ages in drum set, guitar, and piano. He has taught many students over the years, of all different skill levels and ages, some of whom have been accepted to SOTA (Ruth Asawa School of the Arts), and some have gone on to study music at university. In addition, he is an alumnus of the Walden School’s Teacher Training institute for music teachers.
Brett is an active composer who has written for current ensembles such as Siroko Duo and Keyed Kontraptions. He is also a highly active performer and producer in the Bay Area rock scene, playing in a band called Andy Human & the Reptoids. He has worked as a session musician in studios in the Bay Area, New York, and Los Angeles, and toured throughout the United States and Europe.
Brett Eastman grew up in Redding, CA, playing drums and guitar in various rock groups from a young age, before moving to San Francisco. He earned a Bachelor of Music in composition and Bachelor of Arts in French from San Francisco State University. He has studied classical percussion with David Rosenthal, drum set with Akira Tana, piano with Inara Morgenstern, and composition with Richard Festinger, Josh Levine, and Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez.
