Courtney Wise

Courtney holds a Bachelors of Music from the University Of Southern California Thornton School Of Music where she studied with Gary Woodward and a Masters of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied with Tim Day. She is a co-founding member of the flute and guitar duo, Duo Bohème with Guitarist Lyle Sheffler which boasts a wide repertoire of varying genres of flute and guitar music from around the globe and which released its debut album, Senza Misura, in 2014.

Courtney is also the co-founder and executive director of the ballet and orchestral group Art Haus Collective and has produced their performances Rite of Spring (2017), We, Human (2018), and Pictures at an Exhibition (2018). She specializes in pairing classical and contemporary music and dance with large-scale art pieces, and enjoys collaborating with artists from around the globe.

In addition to performing and producing, Courtney enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for music with her students. Her goal is to instill in her students a lifelong interest in music, encourage and support their learning, and provide them with performance opportunities so that they may shine. She enhances her sudents’ learning experiences by incorporating music theory, duets, ensemble experience, and music history in their lessons. Courtney strongly believes that music has the power to build kids' confidence, cultivate their self- discipline, give them a unique means of expression, and help them find their place in the world.
