About Us
Inspire Music was founded in 2006 when vocal instructor Victor Cervantes rented out a small studio on Vicente Street in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood. Starting from a small group of Victor’s students, Inspire Music steadily outgrew its original Vicente location and moved to its current site on Taraval Street in 2010.
Today, Inspire teaches an average of 700 private lessons a week to a diverse clientele of all ages and musical backgrounds. While we still hold onto our vocal roots, we have expanded to teaching a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, strings, winds, and drums. We also offer ensemble classes such as our ever popular “Hip Kids” and “Voices” choirs. With over 25 instructors on our staff we are sure to have a teacher who can match your musical needs.
In addition to private and group lessons, Inspire Music provides rentals for a variety of musical instruments! In fact, we provide over 500 instruments for students of the SFUSD a year with the lowest monthly rates in the city. Do you own an instrument that needs a little help sounding it’s best? Drop it off at our store and our in house repair person can provide a free estimate! Want to learn to how to take care of your violin, trumpet, clarinet, or flute? Inspire Music provides video lessons on proper instrument maintenance to make sure you get the most out of your playing.
We are located at 1241 Taraval Street, between 22nd and 23rd Avenue, in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood just across the street from the Parkside Library and McCoppin Square. With a bike rack in the front, an L Muni stop less than a block away, and street parking on the side avenues, Inspire Music is easily accessible to students from all parts of the San Francisco Bay Area.
